First and foremost, please take a moment to commend yourself for making the decision to seek therapy. This decision takes courage and strength. I imagine that the path you’ve walked up until now has been difficult, confusing, scary, lonely, or an array of other emotions. I feel honored that you would consider me to join you on your journey at this time.

I grew up in the mountains of Oregon and on the coasts of California, and received a BA in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. After traveling abroad for two years, I moved to Boulder, Colorado where I experienced by own personal healing in the sunshine of the Rocky Mountains. This ignited my desire to help others discover their own paths towards healing and growth. I earned a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a concentration in Transpersonal Wilderness Therapy, from Naropa University. Upon moving to Durango in 2018, I worked as a therapist at Open Sky Wilderness Therapy, and more recently began working in the front country to offer healing to my own community.

My personal therapeutic approach involves mindfulness-based techniques to assist individuals in understanding their minds, bodies, and hearts on a deeper level. I have training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Nonviolent Communication (NVC), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and nature-based techniques. I specialize in helping individuals struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, trauma, and grief.

As a therapist, I focus on empowering individuals through drawing upon inherent strengths as the building blocks of growth. While I offer guidance and support, I believe you are the best expert on yourself. I help ignite change in my clients by creating a nonjudgemental space to explore life experiences, aspirations, and hinderances. My hope is to encourage you to overcome unhealthy thoughts and behaviors, learn new skills, and process life’s challenges to live your most actualized sense of self. Above all, I believe the supportive and honest relationship between myself and my clients is what paves the way for healing and change.

If you would like a companion to walk alongside you on your journey, please call or email me for a consultation or to schedule an appointment.
