I have been working in the human services field since I was 19 years old. After graduating with my undergraduate degree, I worked a variety of positions before deciding to return to school. I graduated with my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Denver in 2018. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and am currently working towards my License in Addictions Counseling (anticipated completion Spring of 2021). I have experience working with teens through older adults as well as couples.
With my background in social work, I take a systems approach towards therapy – I believe our families, friends, organizations, communities, political system and global connections all have an impact on what goes on in our day-to-day lives and encourage you to bring it all into our sessions. The primary modalities I utilize in individual therapy include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). For couples counseling I utilize Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I am LGBTQIA+, kink, and polyamory affirming.
Humans are complicated and uniquely individual. I firmly believe we are more than ‘just’ our trauma, ‘just’ our labels, or ‘just’ the worst thing we have ever done. I believe no subject should be “off-topic” and embrace you wherever you are in your journey. If I sound like a good fit for you individually or as a couple, please feel free to reach out and request an appointment or a 15-minute phone consultation. I would be honored to walk alongside you in this therapeutic journey.
